Fuel Tanker trailer overturned SH1 at Ohau

This happened at 7.20am on Wednesday 8 May 2024, on SH1 just south of Levin. The driver was uninjured and early reports indicate a possible mechanical reason for the crash. The road was closed since the incident and didn’t open til the wee hours of the next morning, as Hazmat crews decanted (pump out) the fuel from the trailer before they could right it, and then also subsequently had to have a clean up in the area too.
